Walls, partitions and ceilings:

  • As an absorbent material and to prevent reflections of sound it is recommended to use different standard sound-absorbing panels, carpeting, or household.

  • Wall partitions can be made of drywall filled with mineral wool. Minimum thickness of walls - 100mm (0.33ft) of mineral wool (for insulation) - 50mm (0.16ft).

  • It is recommended to choose a dark, matte color of the walls finishing material.


Floor:

  • Covering - carpet, linoleum, antistatic.


The entrance door to the 5d cinema:

  • The door could be wooden, steel, plastic. Minimum dimensions 1.2m x 2.1m (3.94ft x 6.89ft).


Electricity:

  • The location of the input cable in electric box we provide at the design stage of the project:

  • 1 platform / 2 seats - the power cord opening 220V (42A);

  • 2 platforms / 4 seats - 220V (84A);

  • 3 platform / 6 seats – 380V (126a);

  • 4 platform / 8 seats – 380V (168A).

  • There should be provided minimal hall lightning for ease of maintenance and hall cleaning; it must be two ceiling lights in the center of the room, powered by a separate switch.

Modern methods for the formation of three-dimensional image

The polarization method

This method was proposed by John Anderton in 1891, became widespread after the invention in 1935 polarizing film by E. Landau. To display the image there are used two projectors with polarizing filters. The main drawback of the method is the need to install expensive filters and reflecting screen. There are a lot of systems with low-quality equipment in the market, due to that the visitor of 4d cinema is enough to tilt the head a little bit while wearing the glasses, and the double vision and distortion of stereo image begin. This is related to the fact that during the reflection of polarized beams of light from the screen it is need to minimize the extent of their mutual interference (crossing). Also, due to the repeated passage of the light flux through the polarizing filters (first through the filters of the projectors, and then - filters points) the light flux gets weaker. As a result – reduction of brightness and contrast.

The page flipping method of forming a stereoscopic image - active stereo

This is the most advanced method by now for stereo image production. It is based on alternately overlapping each eye. The left eye is covered at a time when the image appears on the screen for the right eye, and at the time the image of the left eye appears, the right eye is covered. This method is implemented with the help of special glasses and synchronizer. In glasses with small embedded LCD panels, which are blacked out at the right time. Synchronizer using a wireless signal to control the dimming of each of the two LCDs in the glasses. The advantage of this method is a full color image and lack of distortion, as color filters are not used. For comfortable viewing with the flipping method for the majority of people there is need in the vertical refresh rate at least 100 Hz because this frequency must be divided by 2 to obtain the actual frequency for each eye.


At the moment, this method is implemented in wireless nVidia 3D Vision glasses with refresh rate of 120Hz. The company recently introduced the release of the second generation nVidia shutter glasses, which have improved battery, better design, and the most important the enlightenment of glasses, which provides the minimization of the loss of brightness and contrast of the image. The page flipping method in the movies is also used in technology Xpand 3D, which involves the use of rather heavy and expensive glasses, which have to change the batteries built into the case quite often. In contrast, glasses from nVidia have a reusable battery, which is enough to charge.


The page flipping method is growing rapidly for both home use (all the world leaders in the manufacture of television sets using this method to create the stereoscopic effect, computer games using glasses from nVidia, together with a special 3D display) as well as for professional projection imaging systems used in the 5D cinemas.

In our 5D cinema production we use only active stereo technology with nVidia 3D Vision glasses - as the best and most efficient way to provide stereo images to the audience!
